Hello, Escondido!

My name is Nina Haines. I am running for the Escondido Union High School District Trustee Area 1 position.

My work experience spans more than 30 years as a financial controller in for-profit and nonprofit organizations. For the last 15 years, I have owned a home care business serving San Diego seniors.

My priorities

Safety and wellness

Safety and wellness encompass physical and mental well-being. Being able to communicate needs and having resources through adequate funding are vital to achieving a safe environment.

Fiscal responsibility

Transparent budgets, objective review of every expense, and allocating the funding needed to achieve parent and teacher goals are key.

Academic achievement

I will support robust literacy programs so every student can excel and advocate for the resources students need. Collaboration with teachers and other districts, along with proven methods and best practices, will guide that work.

I also want to expand opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, and the trades, including connections with local employers for mentoring and internships.
